One of the most powerful features of the Zembula platform is the ability to use AI to test your live image performance. It is much more efficient and accurate than traditional A/B testing, so it will save you time and provide you better results!
Zembula uses the latest in auto machine learning, which is a form of AI to optimize for clicks, goals, revenue, or margin. A/B testing which is offered by most companies was built for controlled experiments, and not for optimizing performance during the test. With Zembula’s AI algorithm we move traffic to the winner during the test and pick a winner with higher confidence in fewer overall impressions than A/B testing.
A key improvement with Zembula’s optimization over running A/B tests with your email service provider is that Zembula picks and displays the content at the moment the email is opened instead of when it’s sent. In ESP run experiments you have to wait for the completed test to make any adjustments. Zembula is better because everything is happening in real-time at the moment of open leading to faster results and limiting the number of customers that see the content of losing variants.
The concepts behind Zembula’s auto machine learning optimization solution came out of research at Stanford University and a tutorial released late in 2018. What’s even better is that setting up an optimization test in Zembula is super easy! Here’s how to do it.
Make sure you have the goal snippet embedded on your website. This enables you to track conversions for clicks or by revenue goals. You can find this in the company settings under Website Installation. Copy and paste this code into your website footer just before the closing </body> tag.
Create the live images you want to test. (Fun fact: you’re able to test more than 2 images at a time, enabling you to get the best results more quickly!) Click here for an intro to creating your live images.
Navigate to the Optimization section of the dashboard.
Click on the Create Optimization icon. Name your optimization and then select the first image you would like to use in your test.
You’ll then be taken to the dashboard for this particular optimization. You’ll see your first variant as the image you selected when you created the optimization.
Next, add the other image you would like to test against by clicking the Add Variant button.
You can set a fallback, if desired, by clicking on the Fallback bar and selecting Replace Content. You’ll then select an image that you want to serve as the fallback.
Note: you can replace the content of any of the variants by clicking on the appropriate variant and selecting “replace content.”
Once you have all of your variants in place, click the Publish button.
Under the Actions dropdown, select Export Code, and copy and paste the code snippet into your email template.
Once your email has been sent, you can return to the optimization dashboard to watch the results roll in! After a period of time, our AI will track the engagement for all variants and pick the winner for you. No more manual A/B testing!
